2. Educational, cultural and entertainment purposes
Macumba Online has educational, cultural and entertainment purposes. It shares knowledge about Afro-Brazilian religions, their histories, traditions and practices. Its informational content aims to counter stereotypes and misinformation about these religious traditions.
The “spiritual works” available in the Virtual Terreiro are fictional and presented humorously. No request entered in the form results in a real ritual, a physical offering or any actual spiritual intervention. The Virtual Terreiro's entertainment exists alongside serious educational content about orixás, spirit guides, history and religious vocabulary.
3. Virtual Terreiro
The Virtual Terreiro is Macumba Online's digital experience for making fictional spiritual requests (macumba virtual). Requests are processed as a digital experience inspired by Afro-Brazilian traditions and do not replace in-person guidance from an initiated religious leader in a terreiro of Umbanda or Candomblé.
We respect the rituals and practices of these religions. In-person spiritual practices belong with appropriately initiated religious leaders in suitable sacred spaces. The Virtual Terreiro does not replace that experience.
4. User content
By submitting content to our site through the contact form or other interactive tools, you grant Macumba Online a non-exclusive license to use, reproduce and publish that content in connection with the site's services.
You are solely responsible for the content you submit and warrant that you hold the rights necessary to grant that license.
5. User conduct
Users agree not to use Macumba Online to:
- Violate applicable laws
- Promote discrimination, racism or religious intolerance
- Harass, abuse or harm other people
- Submit defamatory content or infringe the rights of others
- Distribute viruses or other malicious code
- Collect other users' personal information without consent

These Terms of Use are governed by Brazilian law. Disputes arising from these terms will be resolved in the courts of Brazil.
